Technique Challenge 7 (Tech07)

Watercolor Wash

Good Morning! Glad you stopped by the technique challenge!

Today's April Showers challenge is Watercolor Wash.

All you need to do this week that is different from typical watercoloring is use your watercolor brush to completely and smoothly color your watercolor paper using a light color.

I used a Dixie cup, and put in 3 drops of So Saffron reinker and then enough water to cover the bottom of the cup. Next I used a wide brush to completely cover my chosen size of watercolor paper. (I did both sides so that I'd have two surfaces in case of error in my last step.) All that remains is to let the watercolor paper dry. Then you can use the wet watercolor crayon technique, or other watercoloring techniques to finish your image. I used Black StazOn for the outline and wet watercolor crayons for the inside. I also sponged the edges of the watercolor paper with So Saffron.
