Technique Challenge 25 (Tech25)
Shimmer Paints Technique
Rhonda has kindly asked me to showcase shimmer paints this week. Thanks, Rhonda, for the shout out! I don’t normally have a lot of time to participate in the technique challenges and so was not aware of the desired scope for the technique. So, this week, you will have OPTIONS!
As soon as I saw the shimmer paints in the Holiday Mini, I knew I’d have to have them – even before I saw how beautiful they are while I was at Convention. We’ll be trying a couple of techniques this week – spritzing shimmer and/or painting shimmer. I’ve used both on the card I will be showcasing today.
The techniques are fairly simple:
Spritzing Shimmer: Fill a 2 oz. spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and add “some” shimmer paint. “Some” means 6-8 drops of white or champagne or 2 globs of platinum - enough to get a good mixture. Shake until well mixed. Spritz onto your cardstock and let dry. Finish our card as desired.
Painting Shimmer: Pick up a little bit of shimmer paint with your aqua painter and add a shimmery detail to your image. Add a new feature like the snow I’ve added to my sample or highlight a portion of your image.
Here's my entry for this challenge:

You can work on this challenge whenever you want. There is no time limit. Please post your work in the Technique Challenge gallery with the words Tech25 in the keywords and post your link here, so we can all see it.
I hope you will find time to play and have fun!
Since many of us are SU! enthusiasts, I’m going to give you very early warnings about upcoming challenges, so that you can order if needed.
As promised, Rhonda will be back next week with the Cracked Glass Challenge!
