If you have a big bite, you can punch a hole near the spine. Them you can thread ribbon around the book. Not only will it keep your book closed, it can hold a pen. I'll try to remember to attach a picture tomorrow.
I have made several Smash/Splash/Junk Journals re-covering composition books. I have Smash Pens (writing on 1 end, glue stick on the other) to attach. The first several I made I used a piece of elastic and attached w/ sticky strip to the inside back cover before applying the inside back cover. I'm not satisfied. I'm getting ready to make some more books. Any suggestions on how to attach the pen so it stays with the book for convenience (the name brand books that you just put your momentoes in has the pen attached)?
