Texture to satin ribbons
To give texture to ribbons, run them through a textured embossing folder. Starch the ribbons first to make it a little stiff. I have used this on 5/8" satin ribbons and the result is stunning

Are you using the spray on starch to make the ribbons stiffer?

My sixth upline (and leadership roommate) demonstrated this technique at regionals in Phoenix. Yes you use the heavy duty spray starch on the ribbon first (the kind you iron in) and then after it has cooled, you run it through with the BS embossing folder. Seems like she used a shim too. Very cool.

I knew I saw this somewhere yesterday! It's on Stella's blog -- about the 12th picture down.

Amazing!! Yapha, thanks for the pic on Patty's blog. I sub to her blog but have been severely neglecting my emails. I have over 400 that need to be either read or deleted so I didn't see this yet. Thanks to the OP for posting this!!

I did this!! but I didn't use a shim. I'm going to try that to see if I get a better impression. Than I better use it on a card instead of just admiring it laying on my table.
