Crimped Envelope Pocket Card
Sample:
St. Patty's Card
Materials:
Business size Envelope - I found green ones after Christmas in clearance.
Paper Trimmer
Crimper
Tape, dimensionals
Tab Punch
Cardstock 3 ¾‘ x 6“ green 5 ½“ x 3 ¼“ white, scraps for tab punch
Stamps to decorate
Polka Dot Punches, Flight of the Butterfly
How tos:
1. Lick and seal the envelope. Using your paper trimmer cut 3" from one end of the envelope. This will be the top section of your pocket card and the larger piece (pocket section) will be run through the crimper.
2. Stamp both pieces, keep in mind, the bottom piece will be run through the crimper and the images will distort. So nothing you need to read.
3. Run the larger piece through the crimper with the 6’ edge going into the crimper.
4. Decorate pocket. I only stamped on the end of the top piece using gold and the heart stamp. It's hard to see. Looks great IRL. I then attached my “shamrock” with dimensionals and attached a ribbon around the top section.
5. For the card insert:
Cut green card stock 3 ¾‘ x 6“ for base layer.
Cut white card stock 5 ½“ x 3 ¼“ for image section.
Use green scrap to punch out tab punch. I did stamp my scrap with the heart before I punched the tab punch. I lined up one side of the punch on the inked image.
Step 6 Stamp and embellish image section as you’d like. Keep in mind bulky embellishments will make it hard to slide in and out of the pocket. Layer on green base section. Attach tab punch.
Slide image section into larger pocket. Place top section over this. Since the bottom is crimped it shrinks so the top section fits over it. I have even made these to hold gift cards.
To create the shamrock:
Stamp 4 hearts in green. Punch out with Heart punch. Sponge edges with green ink. I used Flight of the Butterfly for the phrases to make the stems. I hand cut those.
I used the Stamp A Ma Jig to line up the 4 hearts and phrase on the image section. Sponge edges of image section with green.
